Startup Context
Working at an early-stage logistics startup meant wearing multiple hats. Every process needed to be built from scratch, and efficiency improvements directly impacted survival and growth.
Core Responsibility
Build and optimize supply chain operations from the ground up—creating processes, establishing SOPs, and driving continuous improvement to transform a chaotic logistics environment into a reliable, scalable system.
Major Initiatives
Process & SOP Development
Designed and implemented standard operating procedures for key supply chain functions (pickup scheduling, route optimization, vendor onboarding, QC). These SOPs brought consistency to operations and enabled the team to scale without sacrificing reliability.
Workflow Streamlining
Analyzed existing operations to identify bottlenecks. Redesigned workflows to eliminate redundant steps and reduce handoff errors. The streamlined processes contributed significantly to the 30% reduction in operational losses.
Financial Operations & Reporting
Supervised completion of financial paperwork and established reporting systems for operational performance visibility. Created feedback loops to continuously evaluate areas for improvement, ensuring data-driven decision making.
Team Environment & Collaboration
Built a collaborative team culture in a fast-paced environment. Established clear communication channels and accountability structures that enabled the operations team to work effectively together despite rapid growth.
Approach & Methods
Ground-Up Process Building
In an early-stage startup, there were no existing playbooks. I approached each challenge by understanding the current state through observation, then designing processes that balanced efficiency with practicality. Every SOP was tested and iterated.
Continuous Optimization
Revenue growth and loss reduction resulted from relentless continuous improvement. I established weekly review cycles to identify opportunities, implemented changes rapidly, and measured impact.
Cross-Functional Coordination
I worked closely with drivers, warehouse staff, customer service, and technology teams to ensure everyone understood the processes and could execute them consistently.
Skills Applied
Key Learnings
Shippr taught me how to build systems from nothing. This experience gave me deep appreciation for the importance of operational foundations and how small inefficiencies compound into major losses at scale. The skills I developed here—process thinking, rapid iteration, and cross-functional leadership—became the foundation for my later growth roles.
